St David’s Cardiff is reinforcing its commitment to the community by launching applications for the Landsec Futures Community Grant Scheme. This initiative provides grants ranging from £1,000 to £3,000 for local voluntary groups and not-for-profit organisations in the community, aiming to support those already creating significant value in the area.

To be eligible, applicants must be a registered charity or not-for-profit organisation with a charitable purpose benefitting the local community. The Charities Aid Foundation will shortlist candidates, and community grants panels comprised of local members will review and select projects with the greatest impact on the area.

St David’s Cardiff has already distributed £8,000 in grants to local community groups, including community choirs and animal rescue charities, empowering the local area to make future-forward decisions. This grants initiative aligns with Landsec’s national commitment to maximising the potential of people, places and communities through a £20 million social impact investment. The Landsec Futures project aims to deliver £200 million worth of social value by 2030 and support at least 30,000 people from underrepresented socio-economic backgrounds toward long-term employment.

Beyond its role as a shopping and leisure destination, St David’s Cardiff has had a lasting positive impact on the local community. Since 2019, the centre has generated £690,000 in social value for the area.

Helen Morgan, Centre Director of Landsec-owned St David’s Cardiff, expressed, “Retail has always been at the centre of communities, acting as hubs that bring local people together while creating important value for local economies. As part of our long-term investment in the region, our community grants program ensures we can continue to support local organisations that know their places best to effectively address the most pressing social and economic challenges our communities face.”

Interested parties can submit applications for the Landsec Futures Community Grant Scheme until February 19, 2024, at 5:30 pm. Grants are anticipated to be awarded by the end of April 2024. For more information and to apply, visit www.landsec.com/futures under the Community Grants tab.
