As the gripping new stage adaptation of Death Comes to Pemberley arrives at Cardiff’s New Theatre this week, The Ivy Cardiff is setting the scene with an elegant culinary collaboration that’s sure to steal the spotlight.

From 29 July to 2 August, theatre lovers can enhance their experience with The Ivy’s specially curated Death Comes to Pemberley Menu, a pre- or post-show dining experience inspired by the period drama’s intrigue, elegance, and English heritage. Priced at just £20.95 for two courses, the menu blends classic flavours with contemporary flair. Dishes include a refreshing Heritage Tomato and Watermelon Salad, indulgent Smoked Salmon Linguine, and perfectly Pan-Fried Sea Bream.

To complete the experience, The Ivy’s expert mixologists have unveiled an exclusive new cocktail: the Pemberley Gimlet. This refined creation brings together gin, vermouth, bergamot, violet and honey, finished with a touch of Nyetimber English Sparkling Wine, a floral, herbaceous nod to Regency-era sophistication.

Located just a short stroll from the New Theatre, The Ivy Cardiff offers the perfect pairing for this dramatic production, which brings P.D. James’s best-selling Pride and Prejudice sequel to life on stage. Set six years after Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy’s marriage, Death Comes to Pemberley throws their world into disarray when a shocking murder investigation unearths dark secrets, suspicion, and betrayal.

Adapted by the acclaimed team behind The Girl on the Train and The Da Vinci Code stage hits, this bold retelling is part period romance, part murder mystery and all drama. The cast features TV favourites including James Bye (EastEnders), Todd Boyce (Coronation Street), and Sean Rigby (Endeavour), alongside a stellar ensemble of British theatre talent.

Produced by The Mill at Sonning and Studio RA, this national tour marks a major milestone for the celebrated Berkshire venue. And with Cardiff as one of its first stops, local theatregoers have a unique chance to experience the show in its early run.
