Walk for Parkinson’s Cymru

The charity walk, which takes place in Bute Park on October 8th, is aiming to raise money to help fund vital research to find better treatments and a cure for Parkinson’s disease.
The event includes a range of distances for walkers to tackle, including a family-friendly two-mile route, as well as a six-mile route for those wanting to break a sweat and challenge themselves. The event will house a variety of Parkinson’s information stalls and local Parkinson’s groups available, with live entertainment to see supporters through the day.
There is no minimum sponsorship required to take part and walkers will receive a fundraising pack with tips, sponsorship forms and a trademark bright blue t-shirt to wear on the day. It costs £12 to sign up for the walk, with under-18s able to take part for free.

The Sorting Room Awarded Two AA Rosettes

The Sorting Room, located in Cardiff’s luxurious Parkgate Hotel, has recently been awarded two AA Rosettes for culinary excellence.

The success of The Sorting Room has recently been recognised by hospitality experts, the AA. They have awarded the restaurant two AA Rosettes – a coveted award given to restaurants of the highest standard. This award has recognised the innovative and appetising dishes on The Sorting Room’s menu, as well as the seamless service and dining experience. The Parkgate Hotel was also recognised by the AA, given a 4 Silver Star status.

The Queer Emporium Foundation

The Queer Emporium is a social enterprise in the heart of Cardiff that celebrates all things LGBTQ+. After starting as a pop-up store in June 2021, they are now a well-known and loved business that has brought together over 20 local LGBTQ+ vendors in their Royal Arcade store.
The founders behind The Queer Emporium have recently announced their latest venture: The Queer Emporium Foundation. This new charitable endeavour will strive to empower, uplift and elevate grassroots LGBTQ+ communities. Initially, the foundation will focus solely on events happening within The Queer Emporium, with a view to branching out further soon. Although this venture is currently in its early stages, this is an exciting and necessary step for Cardiff’s queer community.
