Two Door Cinema Club Announce Massive Outdoor Show at Historic Cardiff Castle

Two Door Cinema Club are heading to Cardiff Castle for a huge outdoor concert to celebrate the 15th anniversary of their iconic debut album, Tourist History. This major gig is part of the TK Maxx presents DEPOT Live series and is set for Sunday, August 2, 2026.

The Northern Irish trio Alex Trimble, Sam Halliday, and Kevin Baird will play their seminal album Tourist History in its entirety, alongside a selection of hits from their celebrated career. Fans can expect to hear classics like ‘What You Know’, ‘Something Good Can Work’, and ‘Undercover Martyn’ live in the historic castle setting.

Joining the indie icons on the night are electrifying indie dance veterans Friendly Fires. Known for their Mercury Prize-nominated, self-titled debut, Friendly Fires will bring their infectious energy to the stage. Opening the show is the groundbreaking, genre-blurring outfit 3LIJAH, whose second single ‘Teenage Fever’ drops today.

  • Presale tickets are available from 10 am Thursday via depotlive.co.uk.
  • General sale tickets are released at 10 am next Friday, October 31st, via depotlive.co.uk and ticketmaster.co.uk.

Speaking about the upcoming performance, the band members shared their excitement: “We’re so excited to be coming back to Cardiff and to be playing at the iconic Cardiff Castle.”

They added, “We have fond memories of introducing our first album songs to a tiny crowd at the Cardiff Barfly, and we’re so happy our relationship with Cardiff has taken us on a beautiful journey through iconic Welsh venues. This one is going to be special.”

Released in 2010, Tourist History mixed guitar, punk hooks with an upbeat, electronic polish, launching Two Door Cinema Club to global success. The album hit Number One in Ireland, landed a coveted spot on the BBC’s Sound of 2010 Poll, and has been a cornerstone of 2010s indie music, with ‘What You Know’ recently hitting 1 billion streams globally on Spotify.

Following their debut, the band continued to cement their status as arena headliners, with subsequent albums like Beacon, Gameshow, False Alarm and Keep on Smiling all landing in the UK Top 10. Most recently, the trio finished2024 with a sold-out Australian arena tour, which concluded with a spectacular show at the Sydney Opera House.

Don’t miss out on tickets for what DEPOT Live founder Nick Saunders calls an “epic album anniversary party night” at Cardiff Castle in 2026!

Two Door Cinema Club joins a stellar Cardiff Castle 2026 line-up, including Billy Ocean, Pete Tong’s Ibiza Classics, and David Grey.
