The LEGO® Store Cardiff is moving to a bigger home at St David’s this summer

Big news just dropped for Cardiff’s LEGO lovers, our beloved LEGO Store in St David’s Centre is relocating to a much bigger and better space later this summer! Get ready to level up your brick-building game.

The current Cardiff LEGO Store has been a city staple for nearly 15 years, inspiring countless creations and perhaps a few sore feet for parents. Prepare yourselves, because the new digs are promising an even more immersive and creative experience.

So, what can you expect from this supersised, brick-tacular wonderland?

  • LEGO Pick a Brick Wall: Finally, a place where you can grab those exact pieces you’re missing for your epic MOC (My Own Creation, for the uninitiated). No more buying a whole set just for one tiny brick.
  • Giant Models: Prepare to be awestruck by incredible, large-scale LEGO models designed specifically for Cardiff. We’re already wondering what iconic Cardiff landmark they’ll recreate. The Principality Stadium in LEGO? A tiny Welsh dragon? The possibilities are endless.
  • Hands-on Play: This is where the real fun happens. Expect free build challenges and events every single month. Time to unleash your inner architect and show off your skills.
  • Build a Minifigure Tower: Customise your very own LEGO minifigure from a dizzying array of bottoms, tops, heads, hair pieces, and accessories. Who wouldn’t want a minifigure that looks just like them, or perhaps their pet pug?
  • Super Helpful Store Associates: Whether you’re hunting for that elusive limited-edition set or just need a gift idea, the LEGO team will be on hand to guide you to brick-building bliss.

Shweta Munshi, Vice President of Marketing, LEGO Retail at the LEGO Group, shared their excitement, stating that the new store will be “a top retail destination for product launches and events, while acting as a hub for our LEGO community and new builders alike.” We love the sound of a community hub, even for our beloved bricks!

Helen Morgan, Centre Director at St David’s Cardiff, echoed the enthusiasm, adding that “Guest demand is high for exciting brands such as the LEGO Store and we look forward to unveiling the creative new space later this year.”

While the official opening date is still under wraps, along with details for those exciting in-store events, we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled and our building hats on. This move is part of the LEGO Group’s investment in their stores, following a successful 2024 with new openings elsewhere.

So, start clearing some space on your shelves (and maybe your floor!), because Cardiff is about to get a whole lot more awesome, one brick at a time! We can’t wait to see what incredible creations will come out of this new space.
