British rock legends The Cure have today announced a monumental headline show in Cardiff for Summer 2026. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees will play Blackweir Fields on Wednesday, June 24. This highly anticipated date will be one of The Cure’s first UK shows following the release of their Number One album, Songs of A Lost World.
Frontman Robert Smith has personally chosen the special guests for the night: acclaimed acts The Twilight Sad and The Joy Formidable will join the bill. The Cardiff gig is part of a limited UK run that also includes shows in Dublin, Belfast, Manchester, and Edinburgh, alongside a headline set at the Isle of Wight Festival.
Demand is expected to be extremely high, so mark your calendars for ticket sales.
- Fans can sign up for the Blackweir Pre-Sale beginning at 10 am on Thursday, October 16, via blackweirlive.com/thecure.
- General Sale starts at 10 am on Friday, October 17, available via blackweirlive.com and ticketmaster.co.uk.
The Cure join a show-stopping 2026 line-up at Blackweir, which will also host US vocal powerhouse Teddy Swims, GRAMMY Award-winning rapper Pitbull and two headlining shows from Scottish superstar Lewis Capaldi.
Launched earlier this year, Blackweir is Cardiff’s new live music hotspot, a partnership between DEPOT Live (the live-events arm of Cardiff music venue, DEPOT) and UK promoters Cuffe and Taylor.
Nick Saunders, founder of DEPOT Live, commented on the huge announcement: “This is a massive coup to bring the legends that are The Cure here to Blackweir. When we first announced we would be hosting shows here at this incredible location, The Cure were top of many people’s wish lists, so we are absolutely delighted to be making a lot of people very happy with this announcement. The Cure are the soundtrack to so many people’s lives; they have been one of the world’s biggest bands for more than 40 years, so it does not get much bigger and better than welcoming them to Cardiff and Blackweir Fields next summer.”
