Punk legends, featuring frontman Frank Carter, will be joined by special guests and Cardiff’s own Panic Shack for an incredible night of music on Saturday, August 1st, at the historic castle grounds.
Get ready for an absolutely monumental summer night of live music! The Sex Pistols, featuring the phenomenal Frank Carter on vocals, are celebrating 50 years of punk with a massive show at Cardiff Castle on Saturday, August 1st. The event, part of the TK Maxx Presents Depot Live at Cardiff Castle series, confirms Cardiff as the place to be for music lovers next summer, helping the city’s music scene thrive.
But the excitement doesn’t stop with the headliners. This is a full-scale punk rock banquet, featuring special guests The Stranglers and The Undertones, both celebrating decades of their own incredible influence.
The original core members of the Pistols; Steve Jones, Paul Cook, and Glen Matlock, will be joined by the highly energetic Frank Carter. Carter stepped into the line-up in 2024 and has been credited with bringing new life and energy to the band’s legendary music, receiving rave reviews for his performances. As Steve Jones puts it, “If it ain’t fun, I ain’t doing it. I’m too old for bullsh*t”. This mission of pure, unbridled fun and chaos is exactly what we need in Cardiff!
The Stranglers are recognised as one of the most influential bands from the punk era, and their set spans an illustrious 50-year career. The Undertones are classic rock-n-rollers and will also be celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2026.
We are absolutely buzzing that homegrown talent will be opening the show! Cardiff’s own Panic Shack will kick off the night, bringing their infectious, explosive five-piece punk. Since forming in 2018, their DIY spirit, wit, and fearless sense of identity have made them one of the genre’s most exciting new bands. This is a massive stage for a local band, and we are here for it!
