Multi-platinum global pop star MIKA will officially kick off Cardiff’s Pride celebrations next summer with a massive headline show at the city’s majestic Cardiff Castle.
The BRIT and Ivor Novello winner is set to light up the capital on Friday, June 12, with his signature theatrical flair as part of TK Maxx presents DEPOT Live at Cardiff Castle. This high-energy event promises to be the perfect start to the Pride weekend in South Wales.
MIKA won’t be celebrating alone. He’ll be joined by chart-topping indie-pop favourites The Feeling, known for their infectious energy and singalong anthems like Fill My Little World. The night will also feature acclaimed homegrown talent, Cardiff’s very own Mercury Prize-nominated artist Gwenno, bringing her unique synth-pop sound.
With over 10 million albums sold worldwide, MIKA is a true superstar. His music, a vibrant mix of gritty romance and technicoloured alternative pop, has earned comparisons to legends such as Elton John and Freddie Mercury. From the moment he burst onto the scene in 2007 with the iconic hit Grace Kelly, he has delivered a catalogue of genre-defying hits, including Lollipop, Happy Ending, and Relax Take It Easy, securing billions of streams and fans across the globe.
Renowned for his captivating live shows, MIKA’s performance at Cardiff Castle guarantees a night of bold pop brilliance, perfectly setting the stage for the full Pride Cymru celebrations.
Dan Walsh, Chair of Pride Cymru, added: “MIKA is a world-renowned artist and entertainer who we are so excited to have kick off Pride Cymru’s annual celebrations in 2026.”
