St John Ambulance Cymru and Brodie’s Coffee Co. team up to bring essential first aid skills to the heart of the community in a friendly, relaxed setting.
Cardiff is taking the health of its residents seriously with launch of ‘Lattes with Lifesavers,’ a new initiative by St John Ambulance Cymru and the brilliant team at Brodie’s Coffee Co.. This partnership is bringing simple, life-saving first aid knowledge out of the classroom and right into your local coffee shop. The relaxed, monthly drop-in sessions will let you enjoy your usual brew while trained St John Ambulance Cymru volunteers demonstrate essential techniques and answer your questions.
‘Lattes with Lifesavers’ is set to run on weekends each month, rotating between Brodie’s locations across Cardiff. These are relaxed, drop-in sessions designed to make lifesaving knowledge accessible, friendly, and part of everyday community life.
Visitors can enjoy their usual coffee and a bite to eat while St John Ambulance Cymru volunteers demonstrate essential first aid techniques. There’s no pressure, just an approachable environment where you can learn skills that truly could save a life.
This initiative champions independent business and celebrates the people behind great community services. St John Ambulance Cymru will supply experienced volunteers, information for attendees to take home, and social media support, recognising Brodie’s as an official community partner.
Asghar Iqbal, St John Ambulance Cymru’s Deputy County Commissioner for Cardiff and the Vale, highlighted the impact of the programme when he attended the first session: “We’re here to get the word out and to make sure people who may not think they need first aid skills know the skills, just in case. ‘Lattes with Lifesavers’ makes first aid accessible in a relaxed, welcoming setting and helps people build confidence in skills that could save a life. It’s exactly the kind of community partnership that creates real impact”.
The first session ran between 9am and 12pm on Saturday, December 6. Dates for future sessions at Brodie’s Coffee Co. will be confirmed in due course, so keep an eye on their social media pages.
