Iconic Cardiff nightclub to go under the hammer

The freehold on the Grade II listed property in Cardiff city centre will be available at the upcoming Acuitus on June 11th.

The 40,000 sq ft property, which occupies a prominent corner position at the intersection of Greyfriars Road and Park Place in the heart of Cardiff city centre, will be offered with a guide price of £1m+.

Originally designed as the headquarters for the South Wales Institute of Engineers, the Grade II-listed building is a prime example of late Victorian architecture, featuring period detailing and distinctive terracotta brickwork. Since the 1990s, it has been a prominent fixture in Cardiff’s nightlife scene, most notably as Brannigans and later Przym.

The property is currently operating as the CIRCUIT and Steinbeck & Shaw nightclub and bar, generating a rental income of £232,862pa.

John Mehtab of Acuitus comments: “Investors are always keen for quality leisure assets, this one offers the added benefit of being a potential opportunity for conversion to residential or Student accommodation. It would be hard to find a more perfect location for a property of this nature, right in the beating heart of Cardiff city centre.”

The Acuitus auction will take place on June 11th at 1pm and will be broadcast via livestream on the Acuitus website with bidding online, by telephone and by proxy. Further details can be found here
