Fresh Plans Unveiled for Long-Awaited Crwys Road Metro Development

New life could be breathed into a prominent Crwys Road site, as exciting first-look plans have been submitted for the land occupied by the former St Martin’s Church Hall. This long-awaited development promises to bring a modern mix of housing office space and new Police Station to the bustling Cardiff street.

The proposal, put forward by developers Willowmead Holdings Limited, involves the demolition of the old church hall to make way for a stylish new building. The plans outline a vision for contemporary residential flats, alongside modern office units, which could provide a significant boost to the local area.

This development is set to be a key piece of the puzzle in the ongoing regeneration of the area, which also includes the future Crwys Road metro station, part of the wider South Wales Metro project. The station is located near the church hall site, making this proposed development a prime spot for new residents and businesses.

For years, residents have awaited news on the future of the disused site. Now, they are being given the chance to have their say.

Asbri Planning is leading a statutory pre-application consultation on behalf of the developers, a crucial step before a formal planning application is lodged with Cardiff Council. All draft plans and supporting documents are available for public viewing.

Local residents and interested parties are encouraged to review the proposal and submit their feedback before the deadline on July 1, 2025. Comments can be sent via email to mail@asbriplanning.co.uk. This is a key opportunity for the community to help shape this highly anticipated project.
