The Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) officially announced today that Malta will host the next Commonwealth Youth Games at the end of 2027. This means a fantastic opportunity for young Welsh talent to shine on an international stage.
Following the success of Team Wales at the Trinbago 2023 Games, the anticipation for Malta 2027 is already building. The Games will feature a thrilling line-up of sports, including:
- Sailing
- Water Polo
- Netball
- Athletics & Para Athletics
- Swimming & Para Swimming
- Squash
- Triathlon
- Weightlifting
What’s particularly exciting is the commitment to inclusivity, with the para programme set to be the biggest in the history of the Commonwealth Youth Games. This expanded offering will provide more opportunities than ever before for para-athletes from Cardiff and across Wales to compete and excel.
We’ll be eagerly following the journey of our local athletes as they prepare for what promises to be a memorable and historic event in Malta.
