Cardiff’s very own motorsport champion, Ceris Mair, took centre stage at 10 Downing Street today, representing Wales at a special reception celebrating 75 years of Formula One! This landmark event honoured the UK’s pivotal role in shaping the world of motorsport, and Ceris was right there, flying the flag for Welsh talent and inclusion.
As the driving force behind the Wales Hub for FIA Girls on Track, Ceris was invited in recognition of her incredible work championing diversity in motorsport. Her mission? To create clear pathways for girls and women across Wales to not only enter the sport but also to truly thrive within it.
“It was an honour to stand on behalf of Wales and the FIA Girls on Track initiative,” said Ceris. “To be recognised at such a prestigious level shows that the work being done across our communities is truly making a difference. From young girls dreaming of racing to women making careers in motorsport, Wales is part of this next wave of change.”
Ceris has been instrumental in expanding the reach of FIA Girls on Track across Wales. She’s been busy delivering engaging workshops, inspiring talks, and regional events that give young girls a real taste of motorsport. Her presence at Downing Street underscores the vital role Wales plays in developing the next generation of motorsport professionals, whether they’re behind the wheel or working behind the scenes.
