Cardiff Christmas Festival Returns Bigger and Better

The Cardiff Christmas Festival is back for its fourth year at Sophia Gardens, and it’s promising a bigger and better winter wonderland than ever before.

Central to the festivities is the return of the iconic Spiegel Theatre. As one of the largest Spiegel theatres in the world, just stepping inside is a dazzling experience. The fully-immersive venue, rich in red velvet and glistening mirrors, places the audience at the toes of the performers, offering a truly unique and magical theatrical setting in Cardiff this holiday season. With a capacity of 480 and seating all around the central stage, audiences are guaranteed an intimate view. For a more exclusive experience, VIP booths are also available to book for up to 6 guests.

The 2025 schedule is already absolutely packed, boasting 12 mesmerising shows throughout December.
With the festival kicking off on December 4th with the main stage production, Jack Frost: A Magical Christmas Musical, which will take centre stage for the entire month. But if a heartwarming Christmas musical isn’t quite your cup of tea, there’s a wide variety of acts making the Spiegel Theatre the perfect place to enjoy festive entertainment in the city.

Look out for Festive Fantasy: A Christmas Variety Spectacular, a brand new show direct from London’s West End, with tickets on sale now! For music fans, the schedule is also loaded with some of the best fully-staged tribute shows available, celebrating the legendary sounds of Taylor Swift, Legends of Motown, Fleetwood Mac, Queen and ABBA. If you prefer a more traditional sound, the Welsh National Opera will also be hosting its sensational Sounds of Christmas.

The venue’s popularity is soaring every year, meaning tickets are in high demand. Shows like A Christmas Carol and the first night of Bring Them Home have already sold out, so if you want to experience a performance in this unique setting, you’ll need to be quick.

Tickets are affordably priced from just £19.50 for children and £29.50 for adults, depending on the event. The festival is also partnering with the charity Shelter Cymru, with an option to donate at the point of purchase. Full cast details for Jack Frost will be revealed soon.
