Cardiff’s new Bus Interchange, which officially opened its doors on June 30, 2024, is celebrating a hugely successful first year, having already welcomed over two million passengers.
The state-of-the-art facility has rapidly become a vital hub for the city’s transport network, now serving between 8,000 and 9,000 passengers daily with 58 bus services operating every hour from its central location. Following the addition of 14 new routes in September 2024, weekly services have soared from 1,830 to 3,476.
Gavin Hawkins, Bus Interchange Operations Manager, expressed his pride, stating, “This milestone reflects the dedication of our team and the trust of the bus operators and customers, in helping make the interchange a key part of Cardiff’s transport network, for seamless and sustainable travel.”
Passengers benefit from modern amenities including live information screens, a Starbucks, free water stations, and comprehensive accessibility features, making journeys smoother for everyone.
