Multi-award winning digital skills conference, Aspiration Digital, has partnered with Cardiff Metropolitan University to host its first-ever conference in South Wales. Taking place on Wednesday, 25th March 2026, Aspiration Digital, alongside support from sponsors including Liberty Marketing Group, The Army and ACT Training, will bring a wealth of industry knowledge and expert, practical advice to students across the region.
The event is Aspiration Digital’s first conference of 2026, building on the success of two major conferences in Kent and Newcastle last year, which attracted more than 900 students and saw a 63% uplift in student confidence around digital careers.
Aspiration Digital was founded in 2018 by Becky Simms, CEO of performance marketing agency Reflect Digital. The conference is designed to educate and inspire 16-18-year-olds and early-career starters about the wide range of opportunities and roles available within the digital sector from computing and IT to media, business and marketing.
Cardiff was strategically chosen as the launchpad for Aspiration Digital’s Welsh expansion due to its reputation as a creative and digital hub. However, despite the region’s growth, a significant skills gap remains. The event aims to address this by bringing together an exciting line-up of industry professionals and leading local and national organisations for a day of inspiring keynote talks, panel discussions and hands-on experiences.
Representatives from UK-based consultancy AND Digital, Welsh-based digital transformation tech company De Novo Solutions, online beauty retailer Escentual and networking hub Clwb Marketing, alongside Becky and her team, will share candid insights into their career journeys, lessons from building successful businesses and guidance on topics including personal branding, entrepreneurship and the rising impact of AI on today’s digital landscape.
“Aspiration Digital was created to ignite curiosity and inspire students about the exciting career opportunities within the digital sector, an area too often overlooked in traditional school curricula.
“I’m absolutely thrilled we are hosting our first event in Wales. With incredible support from our sponsors and a stellar line-up of speakers, the day is packed with insights and practical advice to help students carve out their own path in the industry. We just love being able to inspire future digital leaders right here in the region.”I’m genuinely grateful to the local businesses who’ve backed this event. Together, we’re creating moments that could change lives and strengthen the future of the region’s already thriving digital community.”-Becky Simms, Founder and CEO, Aspiration Digital & Reflect Digital
“We’re excited to be part of this year’s Aspiration Digital event. As a leading training provider in Wales, we see first-hand the importance of digital literacy and the many rewarding career pathways it can help learners on. We’re excited to showcase work-based learning and the diverse sectors training in the field can lead to.”says Vicki Gittens from ACT Training.
