London Concertante, a renowned orchestra, is set to perform ‘A Night at the Opera by Candlelight’ at the stunning Llandaff Cathedral on 25th October 2025, 7:30pm. Under the warm, flickering glow of hundreds of candles, this event promises to be a truly magical experience Featuring a selection of iconic arias and overtures from legendary composers like Puccini, Verdi, and Mozart, it’s an unmissable evening for both devoted opera fans and newcomers alike.
This enchanting atmosphere is designed to heighten the drama and beauty of the music, creating an unforgettable experience for both seasoned opera lovers and newcomers alike. Under the gentle glow of hundreds of flickering candles, the historic cathedral will provide a breathtaking and intimate backdrop for the performance. Which will feature iconic works such as Puccini’s Nessun Dorma, Delibes’ Flower Duet and Verdi’s La donna è mobile, alongside arias from celebrated operas like Madame Butterfly, Turandot, Tosca and Carmen.
The evening will be elevated by three extraordinary soloists.
- Soprano Claire Wild has performed with leading companies including Welsh National Opera, Scottish Opera, and the Royal Opera House, and has a strong background in contemporary music.
- Contralto Rhonda Browne is a celebrated winner of the London Wagner Society’s Bayreuth Bursary and has performed with companies around the world, including The Royal Opera.
- Tenor Dominick Felix has performed with Garsington Opera and English National Opera, with recent roles including Gamekeeper in Rusalka and Mime in Das Rheingold.
