Everywoman Festival

The inaugural Everywoman Festival was a roaring success, with more than 1000 attendees visiting the beautiful venue of Insole Court. The founder of the Everywoman Festival Julie Cornish, is a Colorectal consultant surgeon in Cardiff. The festival aims to educate, empower and signpost women on health topics that can be difficult to talk about. It combined more than 50 workshops and seminars on topics ranging from periods, childbirth injury, endometriosis to menopause. Eluned Morgan opened the event and key speakers included Dr Aziza Sesay, Helen Ledwick, and Emma Brockwell.
Art workshops were run by Beth Morris, from Beth Morris Workshops and a creative market had stalls from some of Wales’ leading female creatives; Buddug, Black and Beech, Eliza Eliza, Melin Tregwynt, Dati, Lil Titsy, YLB, Fullstop Accounts. The conversational blanket sponsored by Melin Tregwynt was another focal point as people could stitch in words, phrases or pictures related to women’s health.
Other areas included ‘meet the experts’ with consultants giving overviews of common conditions and health checks from Muslim Doctors Cymru. The festival also housed charity stands including FTWW, Love Your Period with Molly Fenton, Menstrual health project, Coppafeel, Endometriosis UK, the WI, Cardiff Women’s aid. The festival featured food and drink pop-up stalls from Hug Paeng, Bao Selecta, Flour’d up, Fablas Ice Cream, Let Them See Cake, Gin Tin with cookery demonstrations from Laura Graham of Tidy Kitchen. The Wellness tents included trade stands from Medtronic, Irwin Mitchell, Fluus, Hugh James, St Josephs’s Hospital, THD, as well as the Gut Hut from Mcgregor Healthcare.
