Paradise Garden

Based on Cardiff’s City Road, Paradise Garden harnesses creativity from all corners of the city to create intimate gatherings in their bar, garden and yurt. Their events are designed to encourage diversity and exploration, making for great conversations. They carefully select music to celebrate genres that aren’t as heard in other establishments and compliment their intimate venue.

With a long-standing history at the venue, Paradise Garden’s outdoor yurt offers a relaxing hangout. During the summer months, the sun beams off the side with the verdant plants hanging down, but in the winter months, it transforms into a cosy escape from the outdoor elements. With a glass of mulled wine (or whatever your tipple of choice) in hand, this is undoubtedly one of Cardiff’s cosiest corners.

Founders David Bull and Esther Taylor, both from a music and events background, are fully immersed in various music communities. They find they’re particularly drawn to those “who have a strong identity and are exploring fresh ideas in Wales and further afield. We love it when people come to us with unique concepts,” David tells us. Paradise Garden is a welcoming space for music lovers, boasting the only audiophile speakers (meaning the speakers produce music without distortion) in Cardiff, offering an “unbeatable immersive listening experience when DJs play”.

During October the venue has many events planned, along with an extra special celebration. On the first weekend of the month, it’s the first birthday of Paradise Gardens. They will be marking the occasion with a week-long celebration filled with live musicians, both fan-favourite artists and those from further afield. They also have pre-parties booked with promoters Haws and Fam Jam, ahead of their events at Jacobs Market. Don’t think they’ve forgotten about Halloween either! They’ll be treating us to an extra spooky party with none other than their very own David and Esther DJing, alongside Bristol music collective Slack Alice.

Paradise Gardens is a hotspot of creativity, offering a sense of community and belonging to many. Keep up with their latest events and artists by heading to their Instagram: @paradisegardencdf
