TOTM Launches in Co-op Nationwide

Cardiff-based sustainable period brand TOTM (Time of the Month) has launched its products in Co-op stores across the nation.

On a mission to tackle plastic waste and pollution with their range of 100% organic cotton and reusable period products, TOTM will now be stocked in 94 Co-op stores across the UK. They are already supplied by other mainstream retailers like Tesco and Superdrug and have products in over 1,600 stores, but stocking in Co-op, the UK’s leading convenience store, is helping to push TOTM’s desire to provide better, more sustainable ways to manage periods.

The award-winning brand was founded in 2012 by St.John Burke, inspired to create period products that he would be happy for his daughter to use. He wanted to forge a brand that shakes things up in the period care industry, leading the way in the drive to create positive change in championing sustainability, menstrual well-being and ending the stigma around periods.

Twelve years later, TOTM is a carbon-neutral brand that’s leading the way in sustainable and ethically made period products and in 2022 they won the Sustainable Business Award of the Year at the British Business Awards. Their use of organic cotton produces 94% fewer greenhouse gases, 88% less water and uses 62% less energy than conventional cotton during the production process. They are also the only period care brand that is not only restricting its plastic waste but also actively helping to recover plastic from the ocean through its partnership with Plastic Bank.

The chair of TOTM, Ruby Parmar, said that the inclusion of TOTM products on Co-op shelves “is a huge step forward for us as we continue on our mission to bring sustainable and ethical period care into the mainstream retail space.” She continued to say how the rising popularity of TOTM “just goes to show the increase in interest and commitment now coming from both leading UK retailers, and the wider public too, with regards to considering sustainable period care products.”

Liberty Marketing Has Announced an Anniversary Rebranding

Liberty Marketing, the Cardiff-based specialist digital marketing agency, has undergone a bold rebrand as a mark of its 15th year in business. By stepping back and reevaluating the ethos and mission of the brand, Liberty is hoping that its rebranding is going to reinvigorate the digital marketing world.

In a bid to help expand the agency and secure new clients, the new branding is said to set Liberty apart from its competitors and, according to Group CEO Gareth Morgan, is set to be more of a rebirth than a rebrand. “Our new branding is very different to the agencies we find ourselves competing with and extremely different to what we had previously” he says. “It’s time for a new start for Liberty, and this new brand and messaging shows that we’re gearing up for when the market is fully open again.”

Liberty partnered with the Toward branding team to go back to its roots of honest, no-nonsense digital marketing. In the current digital marketing environment that is often filled with confusing, convoluted schemes, Liberty pushes its transparent approach as a welcome break from others in the market that prioritises profit over the needs of the client.

Tom Lloyd, founder of Toward, said that “the old identity didn’t reflect their ambition. It needed more confidence – to believe in itself to stand for something.” In rebranding, Liberty has re-sparked its original flame and embraced its name. Lloyd goes on to look at the new logo, and how it incorporates “what liberty means – freedom, revolution, celebration and a force for good into a logo mark that flies the flag for everything the company stands for.”

The Natwest Accelerator Scheme is helping Pikkle take Cardiff’s catering scene by storm.

Co-founders Louis Phillips and Hamish Watkins, the duo behind Pikkle, are on a mission to support the local economy, help small businesses thrive and offer a unique, sustainable take on corporate catering by creating a community of traders of various cuisines to make fully customised events. And with the help of the Natwest Accelerator, business is booming.

Pikkle offers catering for corporate events, large meetings and conferences and provides a single point of contact, reducing the confusion that comes with organising a range of independent food traders. All produce is from locally owned, independent businesses which creates a supportive supply chain and network in the community. The local traders help Pikkle’s sustainable business initiatives by minimising transportation distances, cutting emissions and allowing for access to fresher and higher-quality food. In addition, all packaging is recyclable, reducing waste and carbon footprint.

Now, with the help of the Natwest Accelerator scheme, Louis and Hamish can quickly expand their business even further. The Natwest Accelerator is a six-month programme that supports local entrepreneurs, creating a network of like-minded peers. The scheme gives access to one-on-one business coaching, focused support from speciality experts and allows growing businesses and entrepreneurs access to a wide pool of experience and knowledge. This collaboration takes place at the Natwest Accelerator’s coworking spaces, providing a base for upcoming businesses to work and collaborate in.

Louis Phillips emphasises the benefits that the Natwest Accelerator has granted his business: “When we started the Accelerator, we were kind of blown away by a number of different businesses that we would kind of be working with on a weekly basis,” he says. “It’s a great collaborative environment to work with people who have no judgement on your business and can impart their wisdom based on their experiences.”

Pikkle is available for team meetings and hosting clients, in-house events and pop-up events where they will bring one or more of their traders to your office or venue. To find out more, visit Pikkle’s website and keep up to date with their journey on Instagram.
