Back by popular demand for a fifth year, and the biggest yet, the Cardiff Property Awards returned to town on November 10th and recognised achievements from a prestigious array of property professionals in the region. Here’s a look at the day’s proceedings…

Hundreds descended upon Mercure Holland House to celebrate Cardiff’s thriving property sector. The day launched with networking, social drinks and lunch before the long-awaited ceremony got underway. This year was hosted by Channel 4 presenter Tayo Oguntonade and MediaClash chief executive Greg Ingham, as well as a fantastic opening speech from Scott Apps of Hampshire Trust Bank, the headline sponsor.

Martin Roberts, presenter and property expert, also showcased an important local project with Realskillz. The initiative offers 15 to 18-year-olds the chance to gain vital construction industry qualifications working in a real-world environment.

Huge congratulations to the winners, a diverse and dynamic collective of companies and business leaders, all of whom are shaping Cardiff’s property course with outstanding efficiency.

Special recognition goes to the inspiring team at the Development Bank of Wales, who scooped up not only the Sustainability Award but also the overall Winner of Winners Award for the most universally agreed-upon achievement of the year. The judges noted a “Clear commitment with its Green Home Incentive, offering lower fees for new greener schemes. Integrated and holistic commitment to green tech and projects.” Showpiece winners indeed.

The property industry is renowned for its energy and sociability, and this ceremony was no exception – colleagues, clients and companions came together, built contacts and laid the foundation for future plans together.
