Cardiff Life and WCS Agency are incredibly excited to share that we’re working closely with Cardiff Dragons on a long-term creative strategy to engage their fans like never before. With a world-renowned coach, a visionary CEO and an elite team, the Dragons are set for an incredible 2024 Netball Super League season.
A core member among the 11 UK teams in the Netball Super League, the Cardiff Dragons stand out as the exclusive Welsh representative in this esteemed competition. Bringing together premier players from various regions of Wales and infusing the team with international talent, the Dragons create a distinctive blend within the league. Established by Wales Netball in 2005, the Cardiff Dragons have been active participants in the Netball Super League since its initiation in 2006.
At the heart of the franchise’s vision is the aspiration to serve as motivational role models, inspiring young girls and women to engage in the exhilarating sport of netball. They also aim to be recognised as leaders in delivering an exciting and inspirational sporting experience for all participants.
In October this year, the Cardiff Dragons launched their vision for the future at the historic Undercroft in Cardiff Castle. Attendees included both existing and new partners of the Cardiff Dragons, along with notable figures from the Cardiff Council and the esteemed Lord Mayor Bablin Molik.
Guiding the event was broadcaster John Paul Davies, while CEO, Vicki Sutton, shared insights into the franchise’s future. Players Nia Jones and Leah Middleton, set for the 2024 season, shared their reasons for joining Cardiff Dragons and their aspirations for the upcoming season. Concluding the event, Stuart Vanstone, Director of Sport at Cardiff University, delved into why a partnership with Dragons promises strength and significance in the 2024 season. Vicki reminded guests of the rise of women’s sport and passionately stated, “We are about to take off on a very fast train, come with us, don’t get left at the station”.
With the Dragon’s first pre-season friendly against the Scottish Strathclyde Sirens fast approaching on December 16th, and the season fully kicking off in February, get those pom poms and season tickets at the ready!
