Wales football legend Gareth Bale has confirmed his consortium has submitted a “brand new offer” to purchase his hometown club, Cardiff City. This exciting development follows earlier reports of a £40m approach made in June.
Bale, who led Wales to the World Cup, is fronting a group of investors keen to take control of the Bluebirds. Speaking recently, the 35-year-old expressed his hope that current owner Vincent Tan will “take serious” their new proposal, which he believes is “very fair.”
“We’d love them to accept so we can take full control and get on with what we want to do and create Cardiff into a club that we know it can be,” Bale stated, reiterating his long-held “dream” to lead the club to the Premier League.
Despite previous indications that Malaysian businessman Tan, who has invested over £200m since 2010, has little interest in selling, Bale remains optimistic. As Cardiff City prepares for a season in League One under new boss Brian Barry-Murphy, fans will be eagerly watching to see if this new bid can bring the club under new ownership.
